The best trips to do while you are staying in Treasure Beach
YS Falls
Only 30 mins away and well worth a visit, gorgeous waterfalls with plenty of opportunities for swimming and exploring. Zip wire and trails. Also swimming pools, restaurant, bar and shop.
Lovers Leap
Great views from this historic location, worth the short trip for lunch or just a nice afternoon walk (photo above). Lover's Leap is a cliff plunging several hundred metres into the sea, with an attached romantic legend of two young slaves jumping to their death rather than live apart. There is a lighthouse here too.
Black River Trip
Let one of the boat captains take you from our beach or Frenchman’s Bay along the sea to the Black River, where you can see beautiful birdlife, fish and alligators. On the way back visit Pelican bar and go dolphin spotting.
Black River Heritage
The food market and historic buildings are worth taking a look around in this slightly chaotic but charismatic town. While you are there the supermarket is pretty good for stocking up. We also love the Juici Patties takeaway place.
Pelican Bar
Take a trip on one of the sea captain’s boats in Frenchman’s bay and explore this one-off, much Instagramed, location. A bar in the middle of the sea where you can safely swim, snorkel or just drink beer and play dominoes. Can get busy so leave early in the morning.
Negril
If you want a bit of nightlife or fancy lunch at the world famous Rick’s bar this is the one for you. Negril is also renowned for its spectacular beaches.
Kingston
Visit the Bob Marley museum, see the sports stadium, admire the views from the hills or just mooch around the shops. A great trip for reggae fans. A trip up into the Blue Mountains to see the coffee plantation is worth doing if you have time.
Appleton Rum Estates
Take a tour and sample the world famous Jamaican rum. Enormously fun day out, with plenty of free rum and lots to amuse the kids (including a friendly donkey.) Buffet restaurant and pretty gardens.
